Every week I'll breakdown each game and what it means from a historical perspective in the football programs at Sachem North and East. As the season progresses, the numbers and statistics become more and more interesting, but here's the information from Week 4:

Sachem 45, Connetquot 0

  • Sachem has outscored an opponent by 45 or more points just four times in 49 seasons after Saturday's win.
  • Sachem has outscored an opponent by 40 points, nine times.
  • Sachem has scored 45 or more points in a game just eight other times.
  • Sachem has started a season off 4-0 only 10 other times since the program began. This is the third year in the last 10 seasons to accomplish this task and second in a row.
  • The is the 59th shutout Sachem has recorded in its history.
  • This is the first time in program history that Sachem has scored 33 or  more points per game in the first four games of the season.
  • Dating back to the final game of the 2008 season, North has won 15 of its last 16 games.
  • Sachem is 19-7-2 all-time against Connetquot. The Arrows started playing them in 1980 and did not lose a game until 1990. Then again from 1995 –2003 Sachem was unbeaten in the series. Their most recent game was a 35-7 Sachem win last season.
  • Sachem has outscored Connetquot, 553-311, all-time.
  • This is Sachem's biggest win over Connetquot, surpassing its 33-0 win over the T-Birds in 1986.
  • In Week 4 games, Sachem is 33-14-4.
  • This is the second most points Sachem has scored in a Week 4 game. The record is 46 against Ward Melville in 2001.
  • In his first eight seasons as head coach, Fred Fusaro's record was 31-32-1, while North head coach Dave Falco sports a 37-29 mark.
  • The Andreassi File: With his five carries and 38 yards against Connetquot, he now has 1,274 career yards and is 23 yards from being the 12th all-time leading rusher in Sachem history. He trails Vin Clark's 1,296 yards from 1979-1980. He also has 197 career carries and 14 touchdowns.
  • The Scanna File: For his four-year career at Sachem, he has 118 carries, 1,021 yards and 11 touchdowns.
