North seeded 3, to open 2014 season

Sachem actual footballIt’s hard to believe we’re already thinking about the 2014 high school football season. The Suffolk County Football Coaches Association had its official seeding meeting Tuesday night and hashed out all pre-season seedings and schedules for next fall.

Sachem North, the defending Class I Long Island champions, will open the season ranked No. 3, Connetquot grabbed the top spot, and Patchouge-Medford is ranked No. 2.

Sachem North will open the season at home against rival William Floyd, who is seeded sixth. They’ll travel to Connetquot during Week 2 and host Sachem east for Week 3 before heading to Pat-Med in Week 4. Its Week 7 game against No. 4 Longwood comes at an interesting point in the season and should be a battle as the Lions bring back running back Isaiah White and have a new coaching staff.

Sachem North will host Commack for its homecoming during Week 6.

Comments: I believe we were seeded below where we should have been. Having said that being disrespected and not thought highly of is a good motivator after you win the LIC.

Games and teams are won and forged in the weight room after school and at night.
